The 14th of November 2018 marked an important day for Sapphire Residences as it saw the global launch of the iconic establishment take place in the prestigious Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane, London.

It was an event that was attended by members of the Sri Lankan diaspora and among whom were many eminent figures such as Her Excellency Manisha Gunasekera (Sri Lankan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom), Arun Pathak (Managing Director of WelcomHotels Lanka), Patrick Cooke (Asia Regional Editor, Oxford Business Group) and John Hitchcox (Founder of YOO).

The evening included speeches by Her Excellency Manisha Gunasekera (High Commissioner to the UK), Arun Pathak (MD, WelcomHotels Lanka), Patrick Cooke (Editor, Oxford Business Group) and John Hitchcox (Chairman, YOO), as well as a screening of a short film ‘ The Making of an Icon’. Over 150 Guests mingled in the spectacular surroundings and were treated to canapés with a Sri Lankan twist created especially for the occasion by The Dorchester’s Executive Sous Chef Mario Perera. (a graduate of St. Joseph’s College in Colombo). This masterful fusion of Sri Lanka flavours further enhanced the celebrations.
