SAPPHIRE RESIDENCES HOSTS THE PRESTIGIOUS INDIAN CEO FORUM SRI LANKA

On 8th June, in the impressive surroundings of the Sapphire Residences Experience Centre on Galle Face, WelcomHotels Lanka (Private) Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of ITC Ltd. India) welcomed members of The Indian CEO Forum Sri Lanka (ICF) to its latest gathering comprising over 75 influential businesspeople and guests.
Introducing the proceedings, which form part of ‘The Splendour of Gracious Living Explorations’ series, WelcomHotels Lanka’s Arun Pathak welcomed the assembled guests, beginning with two minutes silence in memory of the victims of the recent Easter attacks, before presenting a short film about Sapphire Residences. Guests were later treated to private tours of the spectacular show Sky Mansion, featuring interiors inspired by Philippe Starck, the world’s greatest living designer. Sapphire Residences proudly presented the newest additions to join the list of luxury apartments in Colombo Sri Lanka.

With a membership comprising almost 68 influential business leaders of Indian origin, ICF actively supports economic growth in Sri Lanka by encouraging Indian investment, fostering economic co-operation and showcasing investment opportunities to Indian investors. It also engages in charitable initiatives on the island including blood donation camps, welfare programs and flood and landslide relief.
In his opening speech to the assembled members, ICF President Umesh Gautam (CEO of Lanka Ashok Leyland) reiterated the organisation’s commitment to constantly engage in promoting Sri Lanka in the future as well.

The keynote presentation by the popular environmental architect and author Sunela Jayawardena (author ‘Line of Lanka’) explored her historical travelogue, focusing on the Ramayana trails in Sri Lanka and promoting inbound tourism into the island. Ms. Jayawardena, who was ranked by Echelon magazine as one of the ’50 Most Powerful Women in Sri Lanka’, is widely recognized as Sri Lanka’s leading environmental architect, whose primary design impulse is grounded in a concern for the ecology of the site and the sustainability of human habitats. Sapphire Residences are known for their sustainable and responsible luxury apartments in Colombo Sri Lanka.
The venue was adorned by a collection of art exhibits by up-and-coming artist Sameera Kalupahana, who was introduced in a short speech by Sri Lankan artist’s representative & art connoisseur Disney Perera.

Visiting from Delhi with co-Director Saba Ali was Ashwin Chadha, President of India Sotheby’s International Realty, who also addressed the guests on the topic of the real estate market.
